Building a Future Worth Funding

Funders want to invest in your vision. But in a world where we are too often in crisis mode, it is difficult to create the space and practice to imagine a more just future. This session is designed to help organizations push the boundaries of their thinking, tap into their creativity and imagine a world we want to bring into existence. 

Nonprofit pros need to cultivate hope and a belief that a better future is possible, and that is hard to do when we spend so much time facing disaster. This highly interactive hour will give participants a chance to reconnect to their power of creativity and world-building, so that they can paint a vision for funders and partners that goes beyond “help us keep the sky from falling.” 

We will explore the context of crisis that brought us here, from horizon loss to scarcity mindsets and acknowledge the forces that keep us dreaming small. Then, we will focus the majority of the time future-building, drawing on grounding rituals, improvisation, and even brain science.
