Bio
After beginning her career in annual giving, Meredith Johnston spent 10 years in higher education advancement, holding leadership roles across annual giving and major gifts programs. She then spent eight years building the philanthropy program at Scripps Research, a nonprofit biomedical institute in San Diego. Today, Meredith is doing the same work in community health at Family Health Centers of San Diego.
The throughline of her career is a passion for “big hairy challenges” — opportunities that require building from the ground up: teams, awareness, donor bases and the infrastructure needed for sustained fundraising success. Meredith brings a builder’s mindset and a practical, strategic approach to growing philanthropy.
