Dr. Rabbi Laurie Coskey is a visionary San Diego leader who has advanced social justice, education, philanthropy, and community empowerment through decades of transformative civic and nonprofit leadership.

Bio
Dr. Rabbi Laurie Coskey is a San Diego leader whose career has been defined by a deep commitment to social justice, education and community empowerment. She currently serves as Vice Chancellor of Development and Entrepreneurship at the San Diego Community College District, where she works on bold initiatives to eliminate barriers and expand access to student persistence and success across all four district colleges.
Previously, she was CEO and Executive Director of the San Diego College of Continuing Education Foundation, securing more than $45 million in philanthropic investment. She also led United Way of San Diego County as President and CEO, advancing cross-sector initiatives to strengthen families and support community well-being.
For more than 15 years, Coskey served as Executive Director of the Interfaith Center for Worker Justice, building coalitions to support the dignity and rights of working families. She has held leadership roles on regional and national boards focused on faith-based social justice and civic engagement. In 2014, she shared her vision and impact in a TEDx San Diego talk.
An active civic contributor, Coskey is a former Chair of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation and currently serves on the community advisory boards of the San Diego Union-Tribune and UC San Diego. She has received numerous honors, including recognition as a “Woman Who Means Business” by the San Diego Business Journal.
Coskey was ordained at Hebrew Union College as one of the trailblazing women rabbis and served for more than a decade as Rabbi-in-Residence at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a doctorate in leadership studies from the University of San Diego.
