Bio
Kate Sudduth is the founder of Sudduth Consulting, LLC, a boutique nonprofit consulting firm based in Indianapolis dedicated to helping nonprofits build clarity and capacity. Her mission in consulting is to empower organizations to successfully implement their missions so their clients can thrive. By bridging the gap between securing funding and sustaining growth, Kate ensures that nonprofits not only acquire grant dollars but also possess the operational strength to retain them and expand their impact.
Kate’s journey is rooted in social work and nonprofit management, beginning with direct practice serving families and youth across Tennessee, Nicaragua, Rhode Island and Indiana. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Intercultural Studies, followed by a Master of Social Work with a focus on leadership and evaluation from Indiana University.
Leveraging more than a decade of experience in fundraising and grant management, she has led statewide teams, crafted board development strategies and grown direct donor giving. Some of her favorite work involved managing a portfolio of more than 30 recurring grants annually spanning local, state and federal levels, as well as family foundations, ranging from $1,000 to $1.5 million. This frontline experience allows her to deeply empathize with her clients and understand the unique challenges they face in the field.
Since launching Sudduth Consulting in 2021, Kate has specialized in nonprofit strategy, operations and grant management. She has supported clients in securing more than $6.5 million in funding. Her work goes beyond the application process. She helps clients strategically plan for growth and has successfully doubled grant revenue for programming for several organizations.
Additionally, Kate assists foundations in managing and distributing their investments, providing a valuable grantor-based perspective on reporting and applications. Ultimately, she partners with leaders to build the systems and strategies necessary for long-term sustainability and community impact.
