As Senior Director of Integrated Fundraising at San Diego Foundation, Jeff Spitko develops innovative, multichannel strategies to acquire, steward, and retain donors. Leveraging both traditional and digital channels, he cultivates lasting relationships that drive fundraising across annual, mid-level, and major giving to support SDF programs and operations.
Before joining San Diego Foundation, Jeff was the Director of Membership & Audience Management atSan Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. In his role, he led acquisition, retention, and cultivation strategies for the organization’s 400,000-strong membership base, mass market donors, monthly sustainers, and VIP supporters. Over Jeff’s 11-year tenure, annual revenue from these direct response programs more than doubled, growing from $26 million to over $57 million.
Earlier in his career, Spitko served as Chief Marketing Officer at the LGBTQ Victory Fund & Institute, spearheaded digital marketing strategies in leadership roles at Vanguard, and appeared as a brand spokesperson on QVC for multimillion-dollar electronics companies including Hewlett-Packard, Lexmark, Panasonic, Casio, GeneralElectric, Pentax, and Fuji.
Jeff is passionate about strengthening the philanthropic sector and investing in its future leaders. He serves on the faculty of the Modern Institute for Charitable Giving, volunteers as an advisory board member for UC San Diego’s Extended Studies Program in Fundraising & Development and leads external relations on the board of theAssociation of Fundraising Professional's San Diego Chapter.
